Sew Chic was a vendor at the
Wedding Fair Show  at the Henry B.
Gonzales Convention Center.  There
were 3,000 people in attendance.
Barbara Slusher, Sarah Salinas, and
Shalon Covarrubias worked as a
"seamless" team to get the word out
about San Antonio's best kept secret.
Andralyn Divine and Skyla Hickman
served as models of custom
designed flower girl dresses.  If you
were lucky enough to meet the two
dolls, you know they had a blast!
Thank you to everyone who took time
to stop by the booth.

Sew Chic is now able to offer clients the latest
cutting edge trends in couture fashion.
Barbara Slusher and Sarah Salinas participated
in a 6 day intensive Couture Sewing Seminar
held by  nationally renowned couture expert
Susan Khalje.  The exciting opportunity took
place in  Baltimore, Maryland.

To the right and below are pictures of a
couture wedding gown, inspired by the
Versace gown worn by Jessica Alba at the 2006
Oscars.

"A haute couture day
dress typically takes
one hundred hours to
create, and gowns can
take many times that."

Sew Chic sisters, Barbara Slusher and Sandra
Salinas, proudly represented their heritage as
part of the
Friends of Casa Navarro carriage at
the Battle of Flowers Parade.  They are 5th
generation direct descendants of Jose Antonio
Navarro, one of the few Hispanic signers of the
Texas Declaration of Independence.
 Each sister
is wearing a custom made 19th century style
gown by Sew Chic.  The dresses were made of
nearly 20 YARDS OF FABRIC!!!  Thankfully, the
weather was quite pleasant.
